Artist's Comments

This was inspired by the song "Curtains" by Elton John/ Bernie Taupin. It is my favorite Elton song, the reason I feel Taupin is the king of rock lyricists, and one of my favorite songs of all time. This is dedicated to the amazing and wonderful deviant :icondogmatickerr: for all his support, love and inspiration since I first stepped foot onto DA. He is a true blessing and I am fortunate to have met him. Thank you so much for the wonderful gifts you continue to bestow upon me. Here is one for your unswerving devotion, long overdue.

Reference was the exquisite Anne Hathaway.

"Curtains"

I used to know this old scarecrow
He was my song, my joy and sorrow
Cast alone between the furrows
Of a field no longer sown by anyone

I held a dandelion
That said the time had come
To leave upon the wind
Not to return
When summer burned the earth again

Cultivate the freshest flower
This garden ever grew
Beneath these branches
I once wrote such childish words for you

But that's okay
There's treasure children always seek to find
And just like us
You must have had
A once upon a time

John/Taupin

While this was mainly inspired by "Curtains" the other songs in the playlist I was listening too had no doubt an effect as well:

Curtains by =bohemianBDC - I wanted to suggest this artist's work for a DD -- his work is very inspiring and full of colours and flowers that are reminescent of seasons. I think this one is one of the best in his gallery, and it is so full of exquisite little details, one could stare at it forever. He's also made amazing use of colours and portraiture skills to make a work of art that is both very expressive and very evocative. (Suggested by =Exillior and Featured by ^archanN)
